{ وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ﴿١﴾ }
Truthful is Allaah the Great
Quran— Surah: an-Najm — Verse:01
Here is the statement of Imam Mahdi Nasser Mohammed al-Yamani concerning the Word of Allaah the Exalted:
{وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ﴿١﴾}
صدق الله العظيم [النجم].
Surah: an-Najm— Verse:01
The true interpretation in truth is: “And by the star when it comes and approaches,” not when it departs and disappears as claimed by the people of traditional interpretation. Rather, it comes and approaches.
This is because I find that the word hawā (هوى)
is among the synonyms of atā
(أتى – to come),
and it differs from the word “hawā”
(الهوى – desire).
For I find in the Book that the true clarification of the word (hawā) is that it is among the synonyms of “to come.”
Thus we say:
hawā – yahwī (هوى – يهوي)
atā – ya’tī (أتى – يأتي)
Therefore Allaah the Exalted said:
{رَّبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُم مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ} صدق الله العظيم [إبراهيم: 37].
Meaning: that the hearts of people come to them, toward Your Sacred House.
Another proof is the Word of Allaah the Exalted:
{وَأَذِّن فِي النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَى كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ} صدق الله العظيم [الحج: 27].
Thus it has become clear to you that the intended meaning of the word of Allaah in the Great Qur’an:
{فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ} [إبراهيم: 37]
Surah: Ibrahim — Verse: 37
is that they come to them. Likewise is the Word of Allaah the Exalted:
{فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ ﴿٩﴾}
Surah: al-Qari’ah — Verse:09
meaning coming to him,
{وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ ﴿١٠﴾ نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ ﴿١١﴾}
صدق الله العظيم [القارعة].
Surah: al-Qari’ah — Verses: 10-11
And in line with the Word of Allaah the Exalted:
{بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ}
صدق الله العظيم [الأنبياء: 40].
Surah: al-Anbiyaa — Verse: 40
Thus it has now become clear to you the true interpretation of the Word of Allaah the Exalted:
{وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ}
Surah: an-Najm — Verse: 01
Meaning when it comes, and it is the very same knocking star—the planet of Hellfire—in line with the Word of Allaah the Exalted:
{وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ ﴿١﴾ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ﴿٢﴾ النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ ﴿٣﴾}
صدق الله العظيم [الطارق].
Surah: at-Tariq — Verses: 1-3
